The hallway/de hal

In the hallway we have a big cabinet for crockery, I did put all kinds of blue and white china in it and combined it with silver and little flowers made of several materials, and jewelry, mainly necklaces with pearls...not the real ones I am afraid...all of it came from flea markets.

In de hal staat een grote witte bordenkast die we op Marktplaats hebben gekocht, hij is van oud grenen en daarna wit gekalkt met waarschijnlijk latex...ik weet het niet, maar ik was er helemaal weg van, dus: hup...in de auto gepropt en rijden maar. Ik heb hem nu vol staan met wit en blauw- wit servies gecombineerd met kraaltjesbloemen en sieraden. Maar volgende maand kan het weer anders zijn.

We just love vintage jewelry......Never bought a new piece..we have "a champagne taste and a beer budget" (I did read this at someones blog...I can not remember where)...these pictures were all taken at Jeannettes place....

Dutch Glory, Hollands glorie

First of all I want to thank Cindy from http://romantichome.blogspot.com/ for her very kind post she wrote about Villa Extra last Friday. My number of readers went thanks to her post skyhigh and I have been smiling from ear to ear all day!! Cindy has one of the nicest blogs in the world and inspires so many women with her lovely ideas and beautiful decorations..you must have a look at her site (for the ones that have not dicovered her yet) .

I want to thank everyone that contacted me and left a comment...there were so many kind, warm, friendly reactions that it is just impossible to thank you all personnally! It is such a good feeling to know that lots of women appreciate the same things in life, whether we live in Australia, Denmark, Germany or the United States...we seem to love a lot of the same things

Ik wil eerst even Cindy van http://romantichome.blogspot.com/ bedanken voor haar stukje dat ze afgelopen vrijdag plaatste over Villa Extra. Het lezersaantal werd die dag torenhoog en ik wist niet wat me overkwam. Ook wil ik iedereen hartelijk bedanken die naar aanleiding van haar stukje een reactie heeft geplaatst of een mailtje heeft gestuurd, het waren er zoveel dat ik niet iedereen persoonlijk kan bedanken.

This time a post about my friend Jeannette's collections blue and white crockery, there ist so much...and of course the typical Dutch pieces like mills, farmers, clogs and cows had to be on the pictures.

Bij deze maar weer eens een post over de kast van Jeannette...ze heeft hem propvol gestouwd met blauw wit servies en natuurlijk mogen echt Hollandse souvenirs daarin niet ontbreken. De boerinnetjes, de molens, de klompjes...te leuk allemaal.

roses are red, violets are blue

My grandmother used to collect all kinds of things, she also collected postcards and after her death 15 years ago (she was 90 years old) I inherited the collection of old cards. She liked the same cards as I do so I am very happy with them. When I find one at a flea market...I can't help it...I have to buy that...

Mijn oma heeft in haar gehele leven dat 90 jaar duurde geloof ik niet één kaart weggegooid. Ze spaarde van alles en nog wat en de kaarten heb ik geerfd. De viooltjes kaarten zijn zo leuk...en als ik er zo af en toe eentje op een rommelmarkt tegenkom dan ga ik overstag...af en toe een serviesgoedje met viooltjes erbij en hup...weer een verzameling geboren....

On valentinescards there are often bunches of violets...I 'd rather get a small bouquet of violets than a big bouquet of red roses... ( I hope I am early enough with my wishes for tomorrow)Op valentijnskaarten figureren viooltjes ook nogal eens....ik vind het ook romantischer om een klein bosje viooltjes te krijgen dan zo'n grote bos knalrode rozen eerlijk gezegd...
